Site descriptionCaledonia Ash Landfill, regulated under the CCR rule, receives CCR from Oak Creek Power Station located in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Built in the 1950s, the station is owned by Wisconsin Energy and has the capacity of 1400 MW. The Oak Creek Power Station has been identified as a damage case by EPA because 12 offsite private wells found exceedances of molybdenum and boron. As reported in August, 2009, Wisconsin Energy had been supplying bottled water to the residents in the area without assuming responsibility for the contamination. The Oak Creek Power Station is due to be shut down by 2025. You can find the industry-reported data here. For more information on the Oak Creek Power Station, see EIP’s 2019 National Coal Ash Report.
