Site descriptionPortland General Electric Company’s Boardman Power Plant was in Boardman, Oregon along the banks of the Columbia in River Morrow County. Plant Boardman was a single unit, coal-fired power plant, capable of producing 550-MW. The plant was retired on October 15, 2020 and will be demolished by the end of 2023. Plant Boardman operates a Landfill that is regulated under the CCR-rule. Boardman Power Plant is among the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's list of potential damage cases, indicating that coal ash disposal at the site has potentially polluted groundwater or surface water at levels which threaten human health and the environment.
