Snapshot

Sebree Generating Station has 14 groundwater monitoring wells, 11 of which have been polluted above federal advisory levels based on samples collected between March 26, 2016 and October 17, 2019. Groundwater at this site contains unsafe levels of sulfate, lithium, arsenic, mercury, cobalt and molybdenum.

Site description

Sebree Generating Station is a 96-MW natural gas-powered plant located near Robards, Kentucky along the Green River in Henderson County. The station, which is owned by Big Rivers Electric Corporation, has been in operation since 1966 and operates one generating unit. It was previously a coal-fired unit until 2015 when it was converted to a natural gas plant. The station operates three CCR units: Green Landfill, Green Surface Impoundment and Reid/HMPL Surface Impoundment.

You can find the industry-reported data here. For more information about the Sebree Generating Station, see EIP's 2019 National Coal Ash Report.
